Babe Ruth’s Hall of Fame Plaque on Tour
For those that live in the New York area but haven’t had the chance to make the out-of-the-way trek to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, here is an excellent chance to see a piece of baseball history.
The Baseball Hall of Fame is lending Babe Ruth’s plaque to the Yankees on Tuesday, May 12th, for their duel against the Mets. The plaque will then be displayed at Grand Central Terminal on Wednesday and then returning back to Cooperstown on Thursday. The exhibition tour will mark the first time that the plaque has traveled outside of the Baseball Hall of Fame since Ruth was originally inducted in 1936. The plaque will also be a part of a pregame ceremony, honoring the opening of a brand new Ruth exhibit that is opening in Cooperstown in June. More Babe Ruth-related festivities to be announced!
